Delphinium 'Neon Sensation' is surely one of the most beautiful, with its stunning double-layered petals in shades of pale violet, mauve, lilac and lavender, merging into a gorgeous cream-yellow centre. Delphinium 'Neon Sensation' is one of the new Highlander series of double delphiniums, raised only in the past few years, in Scotland. Stately flower spires appear in mid-summer, over a mound of deeply-cut green leaves. This Delphinium is compact, compared to the old-style perennial Delphinium of yesteryear, at just 80-100cm or so in height.
Delphinium elatum 'Highlander Neon Sensation' makes an excellent cut-flower, and it is also short enough to use in mixed containers.
