You can sow China Aster seeds either indoors or directly outdoors in their permanent location. To start indoors, surface sow in trays or pots with moist seed compost between February and April, maintaining a temperature of 16-18°C until the seeds germinate. Once they sprout, move the seedlings to cooler conditions and transplant them outdoors once the risk of a hard frost has passed.
For outdoor sowing, wait until April or May when the weather is more stable. Plant the seeds 6mm deep in finely prepared soil.
